Spring Cleaning Tips

WindowMy mom is a great mom, not only because she was a stay at home mom for me and my sister, but she has so many great tips to pass on, that have helped me with being a stay at home mom for my own family. She was recently telling me how I could get a better clean on some of my household items without having to spend a fortune on cleaning supplies.

I thought I would pass them along to other moms who are looking for alternatives and differerent ways to clean their home without "breaking the bank" and get terrific results!

For Cleaning Silver:

My mom has helped me clean my own silver (which was passed down through our family, by the way). She advises that when the silver starts to get that dingy look about it - wrap it in tin foil, sprinkle some baking soda over it and pour some hot water in to the foil. Wrap the tin foil around the utensil(s) and let it sit for about an hour - the results will amaze you.

For getting those Tough Stains out:

Use Dishwasher All. It is a strange concept, but one that really works. Make a paste out of it by adding a little water to it and rub it in to the stain. Let it sit for a couple of hours and see what happens....guaranteed to even remove blueberry and wine stains out of white clothes!

As well, for those black marks that show up on your linolium floors - sprinkle some of the Dishwasher All on them and use a non abrasive scrub with some warm water. Works every time.

Do you have a great cleaning tip to share with other moms? Pass it on!
