When they asked the little girl where her home was she replied - Where mother is

Christmas is Over!

Boxing DayPhew! Christmas is officially over. There's so much excitement and pressure put on Christmas from mid November - onwards. And now that it is over - I am feeling much relief.

The children loved their gifts from all the relatives and friends and Santa was very good to them this year (Santa seems to over do it every Christmas -even though he promises not to give too many toys) this year wasn't any different....

The children loved to open their gifts on Christmas Eve from us (a tradition we have carried on in my family since I was a child). My daughter just took her time and opened each one very slowly and methodically - while my son tore in to his gifts.

My daughter will be two next month, and she really was in awe of the whole Christmas gift opening. But there was so much given to her - that she was kind of at a loss as to what she should play with.

My son's favourite gifts appear to be his walkie talkies, his robot Transformer and his workbench.

My daughter's favourite gifts appear to be her dolls, her barbie house and her stroller for her baby.

I have definately eaten way too much this year (It would appear that I told too many people that I wanted Purdy's chocolates - as I received three boxes for Xmas). And with all the baked goodies, smart egg noggs and general gluttony - I have put on some weight.

Ugggh. And all that time spent in Survivor Bootcamp since August too...I haven't done any exercising since the beginning of December...my body will have to go right in to running again in January to rid these pounds, and have my pants fit the way they are supposed to again. I haven't got on the scale, but I'll wager I have gained somewhere between 5 - 7 pounds in one month...unbelieveable!

And in case you are wondering - no, I did not partake in the Boxing Day Sales this year. I used to when I was younger and had a lot of time to waste standing in long line ups - however, since having children, my time is somewhat limited. So - my husband is with the children at the beach this afternoon while I catch up on my writing.

I'll be on Breakfast Television tomorrow morning around 8 am, where I will be discussing how to teach your children the importance of responsibility, and how to keep the romance alive after children. So tune in if you are up!

And if you are one of the many who are out Boxing Day Shopping today - here's hoping you get some great deals and that the line ups don't drive you crazy!
