The Stay at Home Mother

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful Dads out there! Today is your day to receive a bit of pampering and treated to a day that is just for you.

As women, we tend to be able to blog, email and chat about being moms, and our experiences with our children with one another with relative ease, while Dads tend to find it much harder to do.

And the truth of the matter is that Dads need to receive just as much credit for what they do for the family - and how much they mean to their children.....

And did you know that stay at home Dads are on the rise? More men are opting to be at home and be closer to their children. Also, more fathers today see parenting as a collaborative effort, and as a result, more of the nurturing and responsibilities are split more evenly with "Mom".

But don't get me wrong, "Mom" will always be the primary caregiver, but I think that we are seeing a more evolved kind of dad today, who changes diapers, helps with cooking and chore duties.

I know my husband loves to cook and is a wonderful dad. He always changed the diapers, and wasn't afraid to carry the diaper bag and help around the house.

My son is very excited to give him his Father's Day gift that he made him at school today - it is so special, that I haven't even seen it yet! :)
