The Stay at Home Mother

So I am off for a week with my family to relax and enjoy some time without a tv, cell phone or video games. This is a time to "unplug" from all the modern day gadgets and just appreciate the world - and each other.

My two year old daughter has never been away from home, so it should be interesting to see how she reacts to her first time away from her bed - fingers crossed that it's positive......

We are remaining in BC but taking some time to enjoy nature - so have rented a cabin by a lake that is quite remote. I think the lake and the wildlife, along with the hikes should be quite entertaining for the children.

The car ride there has already been prepared for entertainment including games, colouring, books, in-car DVD player and snacks. And yes, I recognize the irony with the DVD player - but it truly is a life saver when you are in car for hours on end with the children saying "I'm bored!". :)
