The Stay at Home Mother

Well the baking has been done and the tree has been completed and most of the presents have been bought. I still have a couple of more things to buy, but for the most part, it is done - Hurray!!!!!

I promised I wouldn't go overboard this year with the children. It is my daughter's first Christmas, and I tried really, really hard. But I have a feeling I may have went over budget a teeny tiny amount. Ok, probably a lot, but that's ok. I am such a sucker when it comes to Christmas.

I am so excited for my own children now. I spent this morning explaining to my son about how Santa delivers his gifts. He asked me how Santa can fit down such a tiny chimney. My three year old son is already on the ball. I told him that Santa is magical and can do lots of magical things to deliver all his gifts around the world in one night, including fitting down our chimney.

He had his party at preschool today. It was fantastic. I was only able to stay for a bit of it at the beginning, as I had my eleven month old daughter with me, and she provides a lot of distraction for the kids, so they ask that babies aren't there for the duration. And I do understand that. So I just came back a bit earlier. They were hitting a pinata. They had learned about all the different Christmas traditions around the world. I just think it is so great to open up their minds that way and learn about the way different people celebrate Christmas.

I am hoping that tomorrow I can take the children and run the last few errands that I have to do before Christmas. I am doing Christmas dinner at my home this year for the family, so I will have to do some grocery shopping on Saturday. Uggghhh. My husband is in charge of wrapping this year (he's much better at it anyways - my wrapping is pretty brutal!). So that is one thing off my plate. Yeah! Three sleeps left......
