Face Book

woman computerI was reminded today how far behind I am with the latest trends in connecting with people. So - I had to do it. I finally visited Face Book and became instantly addicted. I saw friends on there who I haven't connected with in years and was able to see what they've been up to.

It was like taking a walk down memory lane. But Face Book has a lot more value other than reconnecting with old friends. It also helps you develop a network of friends - and moms are always the best people to connect with...

I know that a common feeling moms have from time to time is that they are going it alone. But the truth is, many moms have faced similar issues at one point or another - and sharing our thoughts, our fears, our ambitions with one another helps us better understand that we are more alike than we realize. It helps us through the tough times of motherhood - and that we all want what is best for our children.

Life as a Stay at Home Mom does have its challenges - and of course one of the big ones is losing ourselves in the role as "Mom". Because let's face it - we do give ourselves continually - and rarely give ourselves some time to just remember who we are in addition to being "Mom".

I was discussing this the other night with a freind of mine and she agreed. She was adament that she wants to reconnect with her old self - the young girl who loved to laugh and be fun and sexy. She said "I'm still that woman - its just been a long time since I've connected with that other side of me."

So this week - find an evening to go out with the girls or a fun afternoon for lunch - or even a phone call to a long lost friend....they are all out there waiting to connect with you, and in turn, will help you reconnect with yourself....check it out and have some fun! www.facebook.com

Hi Kelly - thanks for dropping by and the comment on my blog. I actually remember your blog, as last year sometime I came across it - I think I connected by some other site...maybe the Wet Coast Women community? Anyway, it was so good to see you came across mine! It is so great to hear from other moms and I agree, it reassures us we're not in this alone and I've always believed in networking and being proactive so that you can get that kind of support system. It is so fun meeting other moms and sharing in our ups and downs as we are brought so much joy and learning experiences in parenting.

Congratulations on being so successful, I'm so impressed by all you've taken part of and accomplished in supporting moms all over! How empowering. Will definitely drop by again...oh and I'm also on Facebook, isn't it amazing?? Perhaps we can add one another?

Talk to you again,

Heidi Cassidy
