The Stay at Home Mother

We took my son to the PNE this past week. It was so much fun, not only for my son - but for me as well. The sights, the sounds and yes, even the smells, took me back to a time in my childhood that was about pure, simple fun.

We took in the Super Dogs show, saw a parade and chatted with the barn animals...

But of course, the best part of the PNE for me is the food (sinful as it is) I always want to have the sweet corn on a stick - dripping with butter, the jumbo hot dog and those little donuts.

The best part for my son was the rides - he went on the motorcycle ride NINE times before we called it a night.

We even played some of my childhood favourite games (pick a swimming duck out of the water, and pop a balloon with a dart game). My son won bigger and better prizes than I did!

But really, the best part is getting to see the excitement and joy through his eyes. And when we had to take him home, exhausted but happily sleeping in his car seat, and me with my belly full of carbs and sugar - I knew it had been a successful day for all.
