Happy Thanksgiving!
I wanted to take a quick moment during this holiday long weekend, to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. This is a time to be with your family - a time to take pause and be thankful for the things we have in our lives.
And although this Thanksgiving for me is not how I envisioned it - as I am terribly sick with the flu and have been up all night sick - I can still be extremely thankful for all the wonderful things in my life.
It certainly has been a long week for my family - last Monday - my son spent the entire night throwing up. And once it passed - it seemed like we were back on track...that is....until my daughter caught it on Friday. And after spending the entire night up with her - I found myself up sick last night...yep - its making its way through our entire household.
All my chores this past week have fallen to the way side. I am weak, can hardly keep water down, and am still having to be a mom - funny how that job title never gives us time off for good behaviour. ;)
The Turkey dinner that I was soooo looking forward to at my sister's is now but a dream....and all my hard work at Survivor Bootcamp these past few months to allow myself that extra piece of pumpkin pie is gone (sniff). :(
What do I tell myself? This too shall pass. I am lucky that I wasn't the one hosting Thanksgiving Dinner and had to cancel out on the entire family. That would have been a lot more pressure. And my children are feeling better now - that above anything else- makes me feel good.
So to all of you out there so lucky to be with your family and enjoying that Turkey dinner - be thankful - and have that extra piece of pumpkin pie for me! :)
