Long Weekend
With the long weekend upon us - I am really excited to have some extra time with the family to do some fun stuff. I love long weekends and the extra day of sleeping in (my husband and I trade off weekend mornings with the children for some much needed sleep).
So for instance, on Saturday mornings, my husband will get up with the kids and make breakfast, and on Sunday mornings, I will get up with the kids and do the breakfast thing and he will sleep in. And Monday?.....perhaps we will "flip" for it!.....
Both the children have colds again (My son's third cold since September). I think he has missed eight classes of Preschool so far. I even have a cold today, which is rare, but we are all in good spirits - so that's the important thing.
Yesterday we took a trip into Vancouver, and met my husband after work to go to the Aquarium. It was fantastic as there was hardly anyone there (and if you have been there on a weekend you know that you can get pretty harried there). So it was so nice to not face the crowds and just relax and walk around leisurely.
And afterwards, we went in to Gastown and ate at the Old Spagetti Factory. My son had to sit in the train in the restaurant, and although they both didn't eat very much (and the spagetti is so-so) they really enjoyed being there.
And yes- they did have their share of running around and trying to climb on and off the train, and some spilt apple juice on the table - I didn't feel so bad when I saw another family with children the same age, experiencing the exact same challenges! ;)
That's the thing about Parenthood.....it unites all of us.
