Sip and Hit
I should have known today was going to be "one of those days" for me when I poured my cream in to my first cup of coffee this morning, and it came out in lumps.
After I dropped my son off at Preschool I headed to the grocery store to do some shopping. On my way out with my daughter, I thought since I had my own coffee ruined this morning - I'd swing by Starbucks' drive-thu and pick up a coffee. But as I waited for my turn to order, I looked down at my phone and was about to call a friend, when I felt it....WHACK!...
My car lurched forward and a terrible metal sound could be heard echoing through the Starbuck's drive-thru. Yep - I had been hit....hard.
When I looked back at my daughter, she seemed stunned. I asked her if she was ok and she nodded. I could feel my hands shaking as I jumped out of my car to see what had happened.
Apparently the woman behind me accidentally allowed her foot to slip off the break, and when she went to put it back on - she hit the gas instead. It was an accident - pure and simple.
I am extremely happy that nobody was hurt and that my daughter was ok. The Starbuck's people were all watching the whole event unfold and gave me free coffee when I came up to the window - such nice people work at Starbucks!!! ;)
Life's little interuptions - that to be honest...could have been a whole lot worse.
My husband is off to Vegas next week for a few days (his annual company kick off). I'm not going - as per my blog last year - my vacation was cut short by both my children becoming sick the minute my plane left the ground. So I had to return immediately to be with them. So this year - I opted out. ;) Better to be safe than sorry. ;)
If you have experienced a crazy day like mine - share your story!
And for the rest of today - I'll just be putting taking it easy, sipping my coffee and staying close to home!
