Valentine's Day Count down
This past week, I've seen my slight sore throat turn in to a full blown cold. And I don't have much of an appetite either. Both my children appear to have overcome the worst of it (fingers crossed). Children are so resilient though - while sometimes mommy and daddy tend to take a bit longer.
But with my annniverary and Valentine's Day on the horizon next week - I really need to shake this cold...
I'm curious to know how many moms out there still get flowers, chocolates or a card on Valentine's day? Or do you do something special to make the day stand out from the rest?
Usually in my house, we don't celebrate Valentine's Day, as our anniversary is the very next day. It kind of like having your Birthday the day after Christmas.
When we got married eleven years ago, I think we thought it would be romantic to be married around Valentine's Day. We were engaged on Valentine's Day and I think we were shooting to get married on Valentine's Day as well, but the day didn't work.
In hindsight - I am so relieved because really, who wants to be celebrating the same day everyone else is celebrating?
But I have to admit - the romantic in me, still loves Valentine's Day. I love the thought of a woman getting a love note or flowers from a special someone. And the butterflies you feel in the pit of your stomach when you first fall in love....sigh....yes, I remember it well.
But you know - it works both ways.
I don't know how many flowers I have sent throughout my life. I send songs, poems, balloons - you name it - I've done it. I'm a sucker not only for wanting to receive something - but for sending things too.
So here's hoping all the moms out there receive something nice on Valentine's Day - and if you do - post it on the blog and share your story.
Like I said - I'm a sucker for romance. :)
