Disneyland Memories
Ok - I admit it - I absolutely loved Disneyland. It was a great week with my son, who just turned five. It took me awhile to "loosen up a bit" and forget about the long line ups, the crazy heat and the outrageous prices for everything - ranging from hot dogs to mouse ears.
I had to focus in on the fact that this trip was about my son and how much he was getting out of it - and as you can see from the picture of me on the Buzz LightYear ride....I became hypnotized by it all....LOL....
My son did enjoy himself immensely. We were at the Park ever single day last week. His favourite ride (which soon became my favourite ride) was Buzz LightYear. And because it is interactive, it became addictive. We rode this particular ride more than 30 times. And no - I am not exaggerating.
We also went on many other rides including the tea cups, spaceship ride, Peter Pan, Pinnochio, Roger Rabbit, Train rides, an adventure safari ride, and numerous others...but in between each of them...another ride on Buzz LightYear was slipped in. ;)
Now - this vacation wasn't like any other vacation I have ever been on because there wasn't really any down time - ie laying in the sun, reading a good book or even catching a quick nap. Why? Because my son was always on the "go". If we weren't at Disneyland, then we were swimming at the pool with all the other children and parents, and if we weren't doing that, then we were in the room playing with "Zurg & Batman" or "Spiderman meets Evil Spiderman".
Each night I was so exhausted I went in to a deep black out kind of sleep. The kind you just fall in to and don't dream, but rather, just "konk out". :)
Disneyland is like a rite of passage for children to experience. The magic and wonder of it all is so fantastic for them at this age.
And now that I am home, and trying to actually relax from my holiday (ha, ha) I look back at the week and am so glad we did it. And so is my son.
We'll have stories of Disneyland and Buzz LightYear for the next week or so, and another experience to look forward to when my daughter turns five - and we get to do it all over again!
