Happy Mother's Day!
Mother's Day is almost upon us. It is a day for moms everywhere to relax and be pampered for one entire day.
And every mom has a different idea as to what constitutes a great Mother's Day.... for me, this Sunday is all about time ....
Not only to myself - but with the family too....
When my husband asked me what I would like for Mother's Day - I knew instantly what I would like this year.
I want a great home-made breakfast, some time to garden (I find it therapeutic), some time to read a book - and some fun with the kids.
I am a pretty simple woman, so really - Mother's Day to me is about being pampered a bit but also enjoying time with my children. :)
My son is having a special "Mother's Day tea" at his preschool today. I am really looking forward to it. I plan on getting dressed up in nice clothes, and making it special. After all - it's not often that I get asked out for "tea".
I think they are planning a very special afternoon for moms, and will be singing a special song as well. I can't wait!!!! :)
To all the Moms and Moms "to be" out there - I wish you a wonderful Mother's Day and hope you take some time to enjoy the day that is all about you.
I am posting my special Mother's Day Edition for the Black Press Newspapers that I write every year in the Archives section of my website.
Take some time to read it and see if you can relate to some of my reflections before I become known as "Mom".
Plese feel free to add some comments here about some of your own experiences of what it was like before you became a mother, too.
Happy Mother's Day!
