Surviving "Survivor Bootcamp"

Survivor BootcampSo I returned to Survivor Boot camp last week - and yes, it was hard. And yes, I hurt this week. I could not believe how out of shape I am! It's only been two months since I was exercising, but can see how doing absolutely nothing in those two months can really catch up with a person - and fast.

So I have ten pounds to lose and my goal is to have them lost by the end of June...

I've been to Survivor Bootcamp three times this past week. During the actual hour of workout, we do what most of us think is impossible - ie - fifty sit ups, fifty push ups, miles of running, running stairs multiple times, lifting weights - and that's just the warm up....

Of course I am kidding - but the truth is this type of workout really works all your body's muscles and is a great stress reliever. I feel tremendous everytime I leave the class. No matter what my state of mind is when I go - I always leave feeling invigorated.

I think the biggest reason is because you know for that hour, you have really pushed your body to its limit, and really accomplished something, and you know that the next time you go - you'll get better at it.

So that's where I am - telling myself I will get better at it. I'm also trying to cut down on calories and thinking about what I am eating. When you are thin - you tend to take it for granted that you can eat anything you want. And with ten pounds on me now - I no longer think that way - I just want it gone!

Plus with the warmer weather and summer around the corner - the extra weight is an even bigger deal.

So what are you doing about the summer months? Have you any winter weight that is still stuck to you?

Share some of your suggestions and thoughts on weight loss with us - as we can ALL relate to those extra pounds that sneak up on us without warning - making the shorts -wearing season the "dreaded"season for many of us! :)
