PNE

So yesterday, in the late afternoon, we took the children to the PNE. It was my two year old daughter's first time at the Fair, and I was anxious to see how she would like it.
Needless to say, as soon as we go there, she was instantly whisked away by her five year old brother to go on the car ride, the boat ride, the slides, the fun house, the helicopter ride and many, many others....and she loved every minute of it...
And because it had rained earlier in the day, there were no crowds, no lineups and you could move about the Fair without the normal pushing and shoving from the throngs of people who are usually there at that time.
The sun was shining and it was warm out. The kids had their hands stamped so they got on and off rides with ease, and if they wanted to go again, they just went back to the entrance and got on. Wow. I don't think I have ever seen it like that.
It must be out of the norm, because it was on the news last night that attendance was down at the PNE due to the bad weather in previous days.
I got my fill of all the really bad things for me at the Fair like those little donuts, sweet corn with lots of butter, footlong hotdog and candy floss. Oh, and who can forget the sugary lemonade!?
We played some games, including the fishing game and dart throwing balloon game (my son threw them, not my daughter) ;) He was so proud when he was able to pop them all and win a toy for himself and his sister.
All in all it was a great day for them, and when we arrived home, we found my daughter sleeping happily in her car seat with her stuffed toy her brother won for her clutched tightly in her arms. And my son was grinning from ear to ear.
Yep - a good end to a great day at the Fair.
