Call me Auntie

AuntSo I spent the entire evening and night at the hospital waiting for the birth of my nephew or neice. It's so weird when you are on the other side of it and have to just sit there and patiently wait for some nurse to take pity on you and share some information with you about the progress of the baby.

I've never been an"aunt" before, so was very excited to become one. My parents and I paced the floor, and I stuck my head in every once in awhile in hopes that I could stay for a bit and help out....

My sister was a trooper and although she had immense pain, she never once waivered from her birthing plan to have a drug-free birth.

And when the baby was born, I had my ear to the door and was so excited at hearing a new baby's cry!

We had to wait another 45 minutes before we could get in to see my sister and the baby and my brother in law - but it was worth the wait.:)

Although I can't give away any info until they have officially announced it, I can tell you that the baby was healthy and happy. And although we went to see the new family around 12:30am, their spirits were high and the baby was amazingly wide-awake.

I am officially an aunt now, and I couldn't be more proud. Will share more info once the proud parents have made thier official announcement.

For now, I am just happy that I was able to be there and share in their joy. :)
