Thanksgiving

First, I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
Tomorrow is our actual day of celebration in Canada, but I felt compelled to put my wishes out there to everyone today - in hopes that it will inspire you to "take stock" of all the things to be thankful for in your life.
This week, my company experienced a set back, one of quite monumental proportions. Our event with Suze Orman had to be cancelled, after six months of hard work...
The reason was completely unforeseen, and one that was beyond anyone's control. However, that still does not lesson the feeling of having the wind knocked out of my sails.
Suze Orman is undeniably one of the most inspirational, knowledgeable and dedicated women I know - and to bring her here to speak to moms, dads, families, about personal financial wisdom, was a dream come true.
And for those of you who wonder if she practices what she preaches - people, money then things - is absolutely true. I am truly in awe by her generousity - that continues to inspire me.
I reached for the stars with her, as I tell all moms to do - and I still believe that you should never let anyone ever tell you that you can't do something.
And despite this disappointment and set back - I am unwaivering with my direction.
I still believe that knowledge is power and making it accessible to all moms and families everywhere. I tell my children every single day that if they fall down, they need to pick themselves up, dust themselves off, and continue on thier way.
And that's exactly what I am going to do.
Nothing in life worth having is easy and I have never pretended that it is. But if you believe in it and hold strong to it - eventually you will reach it.
This Thanksgiving, I want to give thanks for my family's health and happiness and being together. Family is everything.
I also want to give thanks to all my extended family who have emailed me this past weekend, with words of encouragement and support. It has meant the world.
And to all my readers who have supported this website and my column, and have believed too, that your children are your priority - and finding a way to be closer to home for them.
May each of you find comfort with your family and friends this Thanksgiving - and remember what truly matters in life.
