aquariumYesterday I took the children to the Vancouver Aquarium in the morning. We have a family membership, and usually go about once per month on average.

Although it was terribly busy by 10am (they open at 9:30), there were lots of fun things planned for the children due to spring break.

Both of my children could hardly wait to see what fun activities were planned by staff at the aquarium...

There were "stations" set up with information about various creatures featured at the aquarium. We were given a passport to get stamped at each station. When my son answered a question correctly to one of the staff members, he received a stamp in his passport booklet (so did my three year old daughter when she nodded after her brother answered the question correctly).

There was face painting and singing with Bobs and Lolo (a local musical duo who kept the children entertained with fun songs).

They also had all the water tables that contained various sea creatures like star fish and sea anemones open to touch. Both children were thrilled to get their hands wet and experience touching various things that live underwater.

We left by noon, which was a good thing, because the crowds had become a bit overwhelming.

It was a great day at the aquarium for the children, as it was both fun and educational for them.
