I can't believe how fast this week is going - it seems like May is really flying by!

With that said, I am looking forward to a quick weekend getaway during the Victoria long weekend to go to lovely Victoria,BC with my family.

There is a special on right now through Victoria's tourism to get people to visit during the upcoming month. And I have to say, its quite a deal....

They hotels are offering a great price on a two night stay and Victoria tourism will pay for your Ferry ride home. Not bad. The website that features this great deal is www.itsvictoria.com.

We plan on taking the kids to the parks, bug museum, beaches etc. Things that don't cost a lot but can be really fun for them.

On a side note - when I get back, I am going to be on Lunch Television (City TV) here in BC next Tuesday, May 19th at 12pm, discussing what to do if you think your child is addicted to video games.

Gone are the days of Pong and Pacman of my generation, and instead, it has been replaced by games that are sucking kids into playing them for hours. And it's a huge problem.

I curse the day we brought Wii into our household this past Christmas. My six year old son is completely smitten. So we have had to set some ground rules, and I will be discussing some of those in the segment as well as some of the signs that your child may be addicted.
