Thanksgiving Goal

Oct

Pumpkin runFor the past three months, I have been exercising 5 days/week and eating sensibly. My goal was to lose 20 pounds. Now that I've hit that goal - I am setting a new one.

I have officially entered myself in a 5K race in White Rock. It's been one of my dreams to run in a race and the one I have chosen is near and dear to my heart.....

It's a run for the Peace Arch Hospital. It's called the Great Pumpkin Run-Walk which is 1K and 5K. It's happening on October 25th, 2009 at 9:00am.

Both my children were born at the Peace Arch Hospital and my grandmother also received care there before she passed away. It's an event that supports our community, and brings everyone together to raise money for our hospital.

For me, I have always wanted to run in the 10K Vancouver Sun Run, but have always been a bit reluctant (ok - scared!).

What's great about this event is that it is local and 5K doesn't intimidate me - its a great starting point!

I have a donation page, which I am asking all my readers to visit and help support my new goal this Thanksgiving.

What I am most thankful for this Thanksgiving, is being able to do something like this that makes me feel good about giving back. What a great time to do something like this!

To support my run, please visit my donation page CLICK HERE

If you would like to get involved either on your own, in a team, or bring your family - please visit their website at www.peacearchhospital.com

And if you live in the area, come on out on October 25th and support the runners!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
