Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's DayAh yes - the day of love. What are you doing for the love of your life (or more importantly- what is he doing for YOU?) Most likely, he is scrambling at the very last minute to get you that box of chocolates or flowers before he comes home tonight. Why oh why are women more romantic than men?

I have been married almost ten years (as of tomorrow) and am still the more romantic one. If you are like me, and are tired of trying to figure out the opposite sex, here are a couple of great valentine recipe ideas that your kids will fall in love with...

Chocolate Pops

- 15 caramels

- 32 vanilla wafers

- 16 lollipop sticks

- 1 cup of semi sweet chocolate

-Sprinkles

Melt caramels in a saucepan and drizzle a small amount over each vanilla wafer. Place a lollipop stick on the middle of one wafer and secure it with another wafer.

Melt chocolate according to package directions. Dip each "wafer pop" in the melted chocolate and roll in sprinkles to create different designs. Place on wax lined baking sheet and chill for 10-15 minutes in the fridge. An instant hit with all kids!

Fun Shaped Sandwiches

This is pretty straight forward. Make your child's favourite sandwich, but instead of serving it with the crusts on, find a creative cookie cutter and cut out the shape in the sandwich. For valentine's day, use a heart shaped one. It makes lunch time - "fun time!" A guaranteed kid pleaser.
